Welcome to HERU 2017! On behalf of the University Honors & Scholars Center at The Ohio State University, I would like to welcome you to the Conference on Honors Education at Research Universities (HERU). The conference will be held Wednesday and Thursday, 24-25 May 2017, at the Blackwell Hotel and Conference Center on the Ohio State Campus in Columbus, Ohio.

This will be the third offering of the bi-annual HERU Conference which grew out of discussions by the Honors Directors of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) and a few others to meet the needs of educators working with high achieving students at major research universities. We will address all aspects of Honors education from best practices to scholarly research in the areas of recruitment, admissions, programming, honors courses, student research endeavors, funding, fundraising, administrations, and more. Ample opportunities will exist to meet and network with Honors professionals from across the country. HERU 2017 is the ideal setting for those in Honors leadership as well as in-the-trenches staff directly delivering impactful programs to students. Join us to celebrate, recognize, and discuss Honors Education! We hope to see you in Columbus May 24-25, 2017!
