Honors & Scholars One Second Everyday Contest

The Contest

During the Honors & Scholars launch, Dr. Van-Woerkom announced the Honors & Scholars One Second Everyday Contest. The contest is for first year students and will be going on all year. There are $500 worth of prizes!

Take one second of video each day of your 1st year at The Ohio State University. Winning videos will be of  students who do the best job of showing their first year experiencing G.O.A.L.S.

You don't have to wait till the end of the year to win!

The first $100 prize will be awarded to the best 1st 60 day compilation video.  The winning 1st 60 day video and $100 was created by Morgan Billstein, a Bilogical Sciences Scholars Program student! You can watch her video here.

The remaining prizes will be distributed in the Spring Semester. So make sure you keep working on your video for your chance to win too!

STEP 1: Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo.

STEP 2: Post your video on your ePortfolio,

STEP 3: Use this LINK to submit your video to Honors & Scholars for review.

Students can collect and edit their one second video clips however they choose.

Question: What if I haven't been taking 1 second of video each day so far this school year? Can I still enter?

Answer: Yes! Students do not have to include a date on their 1 second clips, nor do those clips have to be taken on a particular day. We are looking for videos that represent your first year experience.

Question: What could I use to put my 60 clips together?

Answer: There are a number of applications that make collecting and editing video easy like 1SEAdobe Premiere Clips, and Kinemaster.
